About Me

Welcome to my portfolio! My name is Kyla Bowling, and I’m a 19-year-old actress, screenwriter, and aspiring movie director with an unshakable passion for storytelling. I’m currently a scholar at Clark Atlanta University, where I maintain a 3.5 GPA while pursuing my creative dreams both in and out of the classroom.

My love for film and theatre began long before college. I dually enrolled in both regular high school and a performing arts school where I got to act, sing, and dance. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to bring characters to life on stage and on screen, starring in short films and performing in numerous plays and musicals. I’ve also worked behind the scenes, where I’ve discovered a growing fascination with directing and the well-developed process of building a story from script to screen.

My experiences have taught me the importance of community, creativity, and compassion — values I strive to bring into every project I take on.

Through my work, I aim to tell stories that reflect truth, emotion, and purpose. Whether I’m acting, writing, or directing, I see film as more than entertainment; it’s a way to spark conversation, shift perspectives, and celebrate human connection.
